Training
Ellis Fairbank offers the best training in the recruitment world. For the second year running we are celebrating after winning the Recruiter Award for Training and Development at the prestigious Recruiter Awards for Excellence. We have also been recognised by the National Training Awards, recently collecting one of their prestigious awards. In addition to this we were also finalists in the Training Journal Awards 'Best Commercial Training Initiative for a business with less than 1000 employees' category.
In this industry, training is often seen as an unnecessary expense. However, we believe that there is a direct correlation between good training and good results. That’s why we’ve chosen to put training at the epicentre of our business. Ellis Fairbank strives to deliver an innovative training programme to all of our employees. Through combining core modules in business culture, operations and our service proposition with individually tailored elements offered both internally and externally, we have ensured continuous professional development and career progression for all of our workforce whether they be a graduate straight from university or an industry veteran with decades of experience.
The value of this long-term investment in our people is borne out by our industry-beating staff retention rate. Only 6.8% of our recruitment consultants leave in any given year, against an industry average in excess of over 50%. We have faith in our people, and as a result they have faith in us.
New Consultants
As a recruitment consultant joining Ellis Fairbank, irrespective of background, you will be put through a training programme of at least two weeks, relevant to your level of expertise. The training is tailored according to your background as follows:
Level 1 Raw graduates, entirely new to recruitment
Level 2 People with (perhaps extensive) commercial experience, recruited from industry, but new to recruitment
Level 3 People with prior experience in recruitment
Depending on your existing level of competency, you will be put through up to 40 training modules that cover the entire lifecycle of a recruitment consultant. These will cover everything from basics like how to interview effectively, Neuro-Linguistic Programming right through to effective fee negotiation and account development.
For your first six months with us, you will be assigned a mentor who will work with you and coach you on a six-week basis. We also hold group training sessions for particular topics that are especially prevalent.
Ongoing Training
Throughout your time at Ellis Fairbank, you will be on a continual training programme. Examples of courses include client negotiation, time management and account development. One-to-one training is also available; consultants can contact our training department at any time and arrange coaching sessions on subjects of their choice.
Our goal is for all our people to be continually supported by relevant training, whatever their skill sets. Preferring small modules as opposed to lengthy courses, our programmes are designed to complement the fast-paced world of the recruitment consultant.
